Our REU student Micah Watkins from Howard University presenting the work she did over the summer as part of the NSF BioNetworks REU at Rice University. Working with her graduate mentor Andrew Gilmour, she engineered a pathway to produce carotenoids in E. coli for developing a light selection assay. Looking forward to seeing what she accomplishes in the future.
